Frans Fluttert, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Senior Researcher with extensive experience in forensic psychiatry and nursing. He currently holds positions at FPC Dr. S. Van Mesdag in the Netherlands, where he serves as a Senior Researcher and Nurse Forensic Scientist, as well as a Research Supervisor at the SIFER Centre for Research and Education in Forensic Psychiatry and Psychology at Oslo University Hospital. In addition to these roles, he is an Associate Professor and lecturer at Molde University College in Norway and a guest lecturer at the Nursing Specialist High School in Utrecht, Netherlands. With a solid background in research and education, Dr. Fluttert supervises bachelor's and master's students across various universities, including those in Norway and Denmark. He has contributed significantly to academic discourse as a member of the European Violence in Psychiatry Research Group and the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. His PhD dissertation focused on managing inpatient aggression in forensic mental health nursing, emphasizing early recognition methods. Dr. Fluttert has also been actively involved in PhD supervision and international research collaborations, including participation in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions initiative.
