Pain Management and Palliative Care

In healthcare, pain can range from minor to chronic and can make one's life uneasy; this is where pain management comes into the picture. For simple pain, a general physician can prescribe medication to ease the pain, but if the pain is chronic and may be due to other severe reasons, like severe injuries, fractures, or accidents, then a specialized physician is needed to combat the issue.
Palliative care primarily aids patients in enhancing their quality of life during severe conditions like cancer or some uncurable diseases. It tries to address underlying spiritual, psychological, mental, or physical challenges. For the sustainable development of global healthcare, mandatory provisions should be made to safeguard palliative care as a crucial parameter. It should be integrated with the nation's existing healthcare policies.
