Gerontological Nursing and Transcultural Nursing

Gerontology nursing is a specialized branch of nursing that mainly focuses on the healthcare of the elderly. Different adult groups of people who are in their late 60s are usually the target patients. The main role of gerontology nursing is to assess, diagnose, treat, and prevent any physical or psychologically associated disorders like infections, chronic diseases, and dementia in adults.
Transcultural nursing is a type of nursing specialty that is focused on comparative cultural and global cultures of healthcare. Its main goal is culturally congruent care, and nurses need to identify and respect healthcare differences in beliefs, values, and customs. Transcultural nurses should be knowledgeable about religious components and understand how many elements such as a person's way of life, mental processes, and customs might influence how they approach health.
